Head Office move – Tuesday 2nd May

As many of you will know the Paul Sartori Foundation Head Office, currently located at 31 Haven Road, Haverfordwest has been planning a move.

Port provides new equipment for Paul Sartori Foundation

New equipment has been purchased by the Paul Sartori Foundation following a donation from the Port of Milford Haven.

Staff at the Port voted for the Pembrokeshire-based charity to be its 2017 Charitable Cause of the Year and have a programme of fundraising and volunteering activities planned to support them over the coming months.

The Paul Sartori Foundation offers specialised, supportive care and advice for those in the later stages of any life-limiting illness and providing patients with the right equipment is an important part of the service. The donation has enabled the charity to purchase new Tilt-in-Space chairs to reduce the number of times a patient is lifted, double Propad mattress overlays to relieve pressure and a Mercury Advance mattress to prevent pressure sores.

Sandra Dade, Charity Manager, said “Equipment plays a big part in the charity’s ability to support patients in their own home. The smallest item can make the biggest difference to a person’s independence, dignity and comfort. Last year we delivered over one thousand items of equipment. We cannot thank the team at the Port of Milford Haven enough for helping us to replenish these critical items.”

Commenting on the donation Vidette Swales, HR Director at the Port of Milford Haven, said “It was incredibly interesting visiting the Paul Sartori Foundation and seeing the vast amount of equipment that they distribute to patients all over the county. We’re really pleased that we can help them to deliver a direct benefit to the people they care for and we’re looking forward to providing assistance in a range of other ways over the coming months.”

Port of Milford Haven

The Port of Milford Haven is the UK’s top energy port and Wales’ busiest port handling around 20% of Britain’s seaborne trade in oil and gas.  It is widely recognised in the industry as the energy capital of the UK.

Sartori Store Pembroke Opens its Doors to a member of the Sartori Family


The Paul Sartori Foundation, Pembrokeshire’s only Hospice at Home Service, was delighted to open its doors to the public at the relocated Sartori Furnishings Store 30-32 Main Street, Pembroke on St David’s Day; with one very important customer, a member of the Sartori Family.

The Store was officially opened, Wednesday 1st March, by the Mayor and Mayoress of Pembroke, Dennis and Rita Evans.  Charles Clewett, Chairman of the Paul Sartori Foundation welcomed all who attended and explained the significant contribution that the stores make to the nursing care provisions provided by the charity within the county; thanking the other Store Managers, staff and volunteers for their contributions.

The Foundation was grateful that Brian Hughes, the first cousin of Father Paul Sartori (the inspiration for the charity) attended the event; along with Paul Watkins Waste Improvement Manager from Pembrokeshire County Council who also attended the busy opening.  Brian, who travelled from Swansea was introduced to a number of key members of staff at Paul Sartori; he was delighted to attend event and meet everyone.

“We were thrilled to open the doors to a crowd of shoppers and VIPs,” said Amanda Myatt, Store Manager of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Stores, adding “the support for the closing down of one store and reopening at a new location has been overwhelming, which has happened very quickly, with a number of late nights.  Thank you to those who helped.”

The Sartori Stores, aren’t just any old outlets, they are retail outlets where you can buy quality donated clothes, antiques, jewellery, vintage/retro items and furniture while supporting Pembrokeshire’s only Hospice at Home Care Service.  The new, better placed store is in the centre of the town of Pembroke within walking distance from other amenities and is also much larger than the previous location which will offer customers more choice.

The Paul Sartori Foundation is appealing to businesses or individuals to consider working with a charity and to help make a difference.  The campaign for sponsorship has been launched recently due to a move to a new head office in a few months’ time.

The Paul Sartori Foundation is passionate about working with companies to create successful partnerships that deliver a real difference to people living in the final stages of a life limiting illness as well as their families, friends and carers.  New corporate partnerships are vital in supporting the Foundation’s aims in continuing to provide sustainable services that promote good end of life care in Pembrokeshire.

“This is a great opportunity for individuals or businesses, locally or further afield to link up with a high profile charity.  A number of organisations these days have a community obligation and wish to appoint a charity of the year to sponsor.  What better charity to support than the Paul Sartori Foundation,” explained Judith Williams, Project and Funding Coordinator for the Paul Sartori Foundation.
