What is Hospice Care?

A Hospice is not only a building, it is a way of offering care to people.  Hospice care aims to improve the lives of people whose illness may not be curable.  It helps people to live with as good a quality of life as possible after diagnosis to the end of their life, however long that may be.  A Hospice service offers respect, dignity, choice and empowerment. Hospice care extends beyond the patient to supporting family and close friends.

What is palliative care?

Palliative Care is a name for another type of care which can be offered within a Hospice service but can also be provided in other places like hospitals and care homes.

When is support offered?

People can be referred for Hospice Care as soon as a diagnosis is made , not just at the very end of life.

Hospice at Home

The core aim of the charity is to provide a Hospice at Home service within the county of Pembrokeshire.  In order to do that as a charity, funds have to be raised and the Paul Sartori Foundation does this in a range of ways.
