This service provides free, hands-on nursing care to people in their own homes.

The care is provided by very experienced Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants who have had additional training in palliative care.  They can provide any kind of routine care you require, such as help with washing, medication, eating and drinking, catheter care, mobility etc.  With the agreement of the district nurse, staff can also carry our more specialised tasks, such as PEG feeding, dressings, stoma care, suction, tracheotomy care etc.

We tailor the care offered according to the patient’s need and the other services available.  The help we are most commonly asked to provide is night care, to enable a family carer to sleep.  We also provide day care to enable family carers to get out of the house to shop, see friends etc.

This service is regulated by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW).  Our most recent inspection reports can be seen on the CSSIW website.
